From September 2021, there will be a new statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our Early Years Setting has chosen to be an Early Adopter, like many schools around the country. This means that we are following the new framework a year early, rather than waiting until September 2021. This will ensure that children in our Nursery are well prepared for the curriculum when it commences in Reception in 2020/21 and gives our current Reception children a fantastic opportunity to follow the new curriculum, which emphasises the importance of working in partnership with parents and/or carers, to promote the learning and development of all children in their care, and to ensure they are ready for year 1!
You can visit this website to find out more about the new EYFS Framework: www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-adopter-schools-eyfs-framework.
Sadly, Reception have closed! We will miss you all very much, luckily we will all still have time together before the end of term!
We will be welcoming you back to school on Thursday 10th of December!
We have updated our weekly "chat, play, read" challenge below to keep you busy today and this weekend! I have also added below all the videos we have completed this term to support maths and reading learning at home. Please watch those and use them with your child!
Starting Monday, we will upload a daily play challenge for you to complete at home with your child, as well as direct you to a phonics video by Miss Saboor. We will be sending out workpacks shortly for you to work through with your child during this time. We will be in contact soon with further information about our return to school. You can also expect to hear from Miss Naz in the coming week!
We will look forward to seeing your work on EEXAT - please get in touch if you have not been able to create your account yet and need the details.

Miss Burns found a lost rabbit in the park by the school! Talk to your child about it: Where do you think it came from? How could we look after it? How do you think it felt when it got lost?
Watch Miss Kingston make a simple egg based recipe! Can you make it while you are at home? Share yours with us on EEXAT!
