Come along to the Community Food conversation

Invitation to the Community Food conversation – part of the National Food Conversation Launch

You are invited to take part in a ‘Town Hall’ meeting on Wednesday, 23rd October (16:00 – 18:00) during which members of the community will discuss their experience of food in Birmingham.

The purpose of the meeting is for everyone who contributes towards community life in the Balsall Heath area to get together and discuss the local 'food system'. It is important to have families, young people, older people, businesses, schools, community groups, and employers represented. The discussion will explore the local food environment and give an opportunity to discuss topics such as what needs to be fixed, how changes could be made and what support is needed to make those changes.

The National Food Strategy team will be visiting the city for the launch of the National Food Conversation. The team is led by Henry Dimbleby (Founder of Leon Restaurants).

This is an opportunity for us all to influence national food policy as well and to discuss how we create a healthier, more sustainable food environment in Birmingham which is affordable and accessible to all.

It would be great if you could join in this activity and also promote it through your networks.

The meeting will take place at Balsall Heath Church Centre, 100 Mary Street, Balsall Heath, Birmingham, B12 9JU. Please arrive from 15:45 for a 16:00 start.

We hope you are able to join us for this unique and important occasion. Please RSVP as soon as possible with your name to HealthyBrum@birmingham.gov.uk
