Year 4 Explore Coombe Abbey Country Park

Before half term, Year 4 went to Coombe Abbey Country Park near Coventry as part of our Summer Term Geography focus. 4 Nottingham went Shelter Building in the woods, where they used their understanding of human need for protection from the elements to build some extremely effective and creative shelters. The facilitators couldn't believe how great the teamwork was, and were very impressed with both Year 4 classes. In the afternoon, 4 Nottingham undertook some geographical fieldwork using the technique of 'sampling'. They created some observational drawings of plants that grow in a water meadow environment. This was a glorious day of sunshine, and we had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful grounds.
