We are a ‘GOOD’ school!
We are a ‘GOOD’ school!
Ofsted inspectors declared ARK Tindal Primary Academy “transformed” under the “inspirational leadership” of Headteacher, Rebecca Garratt, in their inspection report published in November 2014.
Tindal pupils make “rapid progress in reading, writing and mathematics”, with children eligible for pupil premium funding making “faster progress than all pupils nationally”. Inspectors said that behaviour is “exemplary”, and the school’s early years provision was declared “outstanding” – providing all children with an “exceptionally good start”.
Headteacher Rebecca Garratt said:
“I am absolutely thrilled with this Ofsted report which is testament to the hard work and commitment of all of our staff. Since becoming an ARK Academy in September 2012 we have seen huge improvements in behaviour, attendance and attainment. We have exceptionally high expectations of all of our children and, with the dedication and support of their teachers and parents, they are meeting, and often exceeding, those expectations. We are rapidly closing the attainment gap and children leaving Ark Tindal in Year 6 are now fully prepared and ready for the next stage of their education.”
Since becoming an Ark Academy in September 2012, results at Tindal have risen rapidly. The number of pupils achieving Level 4 or above in reading, writing and maths at KS2 has increased from 38 to 63%, and results at KS1 have more than doubled with 63% of pupils reaching the required national standard and above. Attendance at Tindal has also dramatically increased and is now well above the national average for primary schools at nearly 97%.
Tindal’s leadership and management, behaviour and safety of children, and early years provision received an “outstanding” rating, and the quality of teaching, and achievement of pupils, were deemed to be “good”, giving the school an overall rating of “good”.
