School trips are an important part of the children's learning and help them to gain a deeper understanding of the topics which they are studying.
Classes can expect to participate in one trip per term, but also regularly take part in trips to expore the local area, for example, to the nearby Library, to Ark St Albans Academy and for walk-abouts in the community.
Recently, our pupils have enjoyed investigating Glittering Anglo Saxon Gold at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, stormed Warwick Castle, explored the underwater world at the Birmingham Sea Life Centre, learnt about the rivers and the importance of water power at Sarehole Mill and gone back in time to the Tudor Era at Selly Manor Museum.
We make full use of local amenities, such as Cannon Hill Park, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to enhance our pupils' learning and welcome visitors in to the Academy to talk about a variety of topics. Year 6 also look forward to their annual activity adventure days in the Summer Term, when they work together to conquer new challenges at Blackwell Adventure.
